Columbia Falls

Located between Whitefish and Glacier National Park, Columbia Falls is often referred to as The Gateway to Glacier Park.

It retains a small town feel and has been a long time host to several of Flathead Valley’s industrial businesses such as the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company, Plum Creek Timber Company and Stoltze Timber Company.

It is a stable family oriented community.  The downtown area is simple and quaint.

Somewhat “slower” than Kalispell and Whitefish, it has grown in the last 10 years and made many improvements. The population is approximately 4700 people.

Columbia Falls hosts a nice downtown residential community as well as larger parcels of land with tremendous views.  The Flathead river runs through it and there are access areas for rafting and fishing.  Real estate is, for the most part, less expensive than Whitefish or Kalispell.

It has become popular in recent years as a more affordable location in which to purchase a first home and raise a family.  It is also popular for those looking for ranch or executive type estates because of the quiet, views, river and availability of large land parcels.  If you are in Columbia Falls, you will most assuredly be in view of the Columbia Mountain Range to the east. Beautiful!
